The Third Ibero-American Competition for Young Pianists is a musical-cultural event that, since 2016, will be held every two years in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Its first version was framed within the celebrations that took effect in Santo Domingo for having been declared American Capital of Culture 2010.

This initiative stems from the concern of creating a world-class event, as a contribution to the musical development of the country and welcomes every two years to young people who are committed to achieving a space in the international piano area, which will contribute to the artistic projection these novice and talented pianists.

The event, whose third edition is dedicated to the eminent pianist Floralba del Monte, an outstanding Dominican pianist and pedagogue, has the support of Estudio Diná de Educación Musical and the Eduardo Brito National Theatre. We honor each competition teachers, pianists, and composers from our country as Latin American and Spanish, as a way of publicizing his music and his legacy to current generations.

In addition to the contest, recitals and master classes will be given by prominent pianists, Dominicans and foreigners, who will serve as jurors of the same offer.
