  • Rules


    • The Organizing Committee will put pianos available to contestants to study. The National Conservatory of Music will provide access to classrooms with piano for about 2-4 hours per participant.

    • The official language during the activities of the competition is Spanish. However, the required documents can be sent in Spanish or English.

    • If a participant incurs any activity that does not go in line with the philosophy of the competition (as attempted jury tampering, falsifying registration information, disrespect for the jury or the public, etc.) will be expelled immediately from the contest.

    • Contestants must not have any other commitments during the period of their participation in the contest.

    • The order of participation will be determined by draw at the start of the contest which will be compulsory to contestants.

    • All contest entries are open to the public. The same may be recorded or broadcast without the participants receive any remuneration.

    • All participants must be in the room where the contest will take place at the time of the opening and the closing concert.

    • The jury reserves the right to partially or fully listen to each participant.

    • The jury will be composed of personalities of national and international prestige and its decision is final.

    • Those jurors who have kinship with the contestants, or have been professors thereof, may not qualify.

    • Any extraordinary situation that may arise will be resolved by the Organizing Committee.

    • The Organizing Committee will cover the following expenses for non-resident participants in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) only if participants attend all scheduled activities during the contest and not commit any offense punishable:

      • Accommodation from Tuesday November 8 departing on Tuesday November 15. Any additional permanence will be paid by the participant. If any of the contestants want to travel with a companion, all costs of the companion will be paid by the person concerned. For purposes of organizing trials in the piano competition, participants should arrive on Tuesday November 8 in the morning.

      • Food expenses in half board (breakfast and dinner) from Tuesday November 8 until Tuesday November 15.

      • Transport from the place of accommodation to attend the closing concert at the National Theatre Eduardo Brito.

      • Transportation from the Aeropuerto Internacional de Las Américas (International Airport of the Americas) to the place of accommodation for those who enter Dominican Republic on 7 and 8 November 2016.

      • Transportation from the hotel to the Aeropuerto Internacional de Las Américas (International Airport of the Americas) who leave Dominican Republic on 15 November 2016.

    • After publicizing the results, we have a space for participants to interact with the jury about his involvement.

    • The participation of contestants with special capabilities is allowed. This does not entail any special evaluation in his presentation at the contest.

    • Any contestant from previous editions can participate unless he/she have obtained the first place.

    • The data provided by participants will be used exclusively within the scope of the contest. By submitting the information required, any participant allows its use for dissemination and notice of competition.
