Works requiring prepared piano or use the instrument unconventionally or external elements are not accepted.
Works whose authorship corresponds to a participant are not accepted.
Only works that were originally written for piano solo are accepted.
Works adapted from other instruments or groups of instruments are not accepted.
All works will be performed from memory and without repeats, except the Da Capo.
The order of execution of the pieces will be determined by the contestant. This order shall be informed to Organizing Committee prior to their participation.
Each Latin American (non-Dominican) work should last between 5 and 10 minutes.
The maximum execution time for participants 40 minutes in each round.
First Round (elimination):
One (1) Prelude and Fugue from WTC - Book I and II of J. S. Bach
One (1) Sonata from classical period to choose between:
Haydn (Hob. XVI): No.31 (A flat Major), No.33 (C minor), No.42 (G Major), No.43 (E flat Major), No.47 (B minor), No.49 (C sharp minor), No.53 (E minor), No.59 (E flat Major), No.60 (C Major), and No.62 (E flat Major)
Mozart: any except K No.545 (C Major)
Beethoven: any except Op.49 No.1, Op.49 No.2, and Op.79
One (1) MANDATORY Dominican work: to choose among the options available below.
Second Round (final):
One (1) study of virtuosity: Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Debussy, Stravinsky
Two (2) Latin American works, one of them will be Dominican (different of the mandatory work)
Two (2) works from Spanish composers of whichever period.
